December 14th is the Holiday Home Tour brought to you by the Niles Main Street Assoc. You can buy your tickets at MY FRIENDS AND I or at niles.org for 15.00 in advance,$20.00 day of event. This year there are 8 decorated homes to tour.

The Train of lights is coming to town.............If you don't have tickets it's ok you can still enjoy seeing it when it rolls into Niles.  Here's the dates Trains run every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Friday, November 29 through Sunday, December 29. Remember My Friends and I will be open until 7:00 Friday and Saturday evenings. Come see the train and the beautiful windows and street decorations in town.

MY FRIENDS AND I will be open Sat. and Sun. nights starting tonight till 7:00 thu Dec. 21st. I made a cake to serve both evenings and if you come in for a sample you'll also get the recipe. By the way Niles looks beautiful at night. Come see!

After listening to some ladies talking in the shop the other day about how they can't find any thing and how they can't remember anything, when I saw this I thought "how true".  The problem is I write it down and loose that paper or forget to take it with me shopping.  Oh well........I still remember my Name, Address, and Phone Number.  Guess all's not lost!

The first of day of Fall is Sept. 22nd this year.  We have lots of fall colors in the shop right now.



It's been a tradition for the last few years to have Halloween in the store on Antique Fair day which is this Sunday.  You can see some of it now.  Fall is just around the corner, shop early for the best selection.

The pictures on the wall are in Space #2.   The flowers are actually metal magnets.  She put them on the wall by screwing long metal screws on the wall and then just putting the magnet flower on it.  Pretty neat.

We're doing a raffle on Sunday at the Wildflower show.  This is one of the items we will be 

Raffling off.  I made this arrangement out of buttons (pretty ones too!) and put it in a

watering can. If you look close you'll see a little bird in a nest.

Since you don't have to be present to win we will be selling tickets in the shop starting tomorrow.

They are $1.00 each   6 for $5.00 or a big long arm pull strip for $20.00

All proceeds go to Niles Main Street Assoc.

With the new bring your own bag or pay for one in the grocery stores I thought this was an interesting article.  I never knew this or even thought about it.  Smart lady!

We just put in 3 new furniture pieces.

This one is a beauty. 

 It's a document cabinet, but would hold tons of scrapbooking supplies, beads, photos, etc. etc. etc.

You don't see these very often.

This oak chest of drawers is in super condition.

This is wonderful!  Large county cupboard with 4 shelfs inside.  Would hold lots of stuff!

Did you ever make these?  I have and they are pretty darn good.  Kids love them.  Summer's coming and it's never too late to start thinking cool things to eat.   Here's the easy, easy recipe.

 1 pkg instant pudding, 1 1/2c milk, 2c cool whip. Dissolve pudding in milk, whip in cool whip. Spoon into 3 oz dixie cups and insert popsicle stick. Freeze.

MY FRIENDS AND I are of course participating and will be doing both sales and drawings.  Lots of stores will be participating (almost everyone in town) and are planning either sales, drawings or both.  

If you purchase something at any of the participating stores those 2 days you will be entered in special Niles drawings for four $50.00 Gift Certificates that can be used in any of the participating stores.

This is a sign that I've seen thousands of times when entering Niles from Mission Blvd. 

I found this on line while messing around and it had me doing a second look.  Everything looks different when you single it out in a photo.  A little cropping (car, etc) and it would make a great postcard to send to friends and family.

Spring time in Niles is so pretty.   These wild roses with the flag in the back ground, perfect!

We get the most beautiful views from my back yard.  These are the hills along Mission Blvd. by Stevenson.   Look at that color.  I almost missed it when I ran in to get my camera.
