Pat in the shop is know as the Cookie Lady because she makes cookies to serve almost every time she works.

These are my favorites and I've sent it to customers who have requested it.

They are wonderful!

 

 

Shortbread cookies

3 1/2 c flour

1 c sugar

3 cubes room temp butter (not margarine)

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp. salt

 

In mixer

cream butter and sugar till fluffy...........add vanilla

Add flour and salt and mix just until it all comes together (don't over mix)

Pour onto piece of saran wrap and form a disc  chill 30 mins.

Put disc on parchment paper covered pan and roll or press out to approx. 1/4 inch

Poke small holes all over top with fork and sprinkle with sugar

 

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.  DO NOT OVERBAKE

Sprinkle with a little more sugar

Let sit 5 minutes and cut with pizza cutter into desired size pieces and let sit until

completely cool before removing from pan.

 Most don't work, but who cares, they are wonderful for displaying.

Second post of the day............This looks too good not to share!

Mississippi Sin Dip. Sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar, ham ,green onions, etc. Bake in hollowed out French bread for one hour wrapped in foil.

We're gearing up for the Antique Faire which is August 31st.

The girls will be loading up their booths with

wonderful merchandise from now till then.

 

This is a picture of some really pretty cards

and vintage tablecloths that dealer #4 sells.

The cards are from photo's she takes herself.

 

 

This is along the Niles Creek where I walk.

They are cement buildings that I'm sure

belong to the Water Dist. 

Each one has

been painted on all sides with some

really cool murals.

walk through the park to the pathway that

follows the creek and start

walking right.

Best Ice Cream in Fremont and it's right

on Niles Blvd. in Niles.

You've got to give it a try.

 

I've been looking at old posts and here is a recipe from
Oct. 25th. 2008  I used to make these all the time.
Trust me.  These are really good and really easy.

Apple Dewies

2 cans refr. crescent rolls
2 large apples
1.5 stick butter
1.5 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
6 oz. Mt.Dew beverage
Peel and cut the apples into wedges.
Roll each wedge into a crescent dough triangle.
Arrange in a greased 9x13 dish.
Melt butter and add sugar. Don't stir too much.
Add vanilla.
Pour over apple crescents.
Sprinkle cinnamon and 1 tsp. sugar over top.
Pour Mt. Dew between apple crescents.
Bake @ 350 for 35-40 min.
It will seem soupy. It's supposed to!
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Drizzle 'soupy stuff'
over both.

Oh my gosh!!! I can't believe it has been so long since I've posted any thing on here.
Well here's to a new month tomorrow and me trying to post something everyday in August.

 Look what someone did with this old chair.  Just let the flowers grow up inside it..  I happen to have an old chair without a bottom and I'm going to put it with this picture at the store July 1st.  It's not painted, but that could be done to suit your taste.  I love red so that would be my choice.

By the way it's going to be a drawing for the month of July.  Come in the store to enter.



How much is that doggie in the window? 

Well he's not really in the window but this cute dog frame is in the store right now. 

Also in the store are fruit jars, lots of fruit jars.  One would be great for doggie treats.

DIY: Grow A Lemon Seed Indoor Plant •Soak lemons seeds overnight. •Gently remove outer layer of seeds. •Put back into water as you prepare soil. •Plant lemon seeds in a circle pattern. •Place small pebbles on top of seeds. •Water occasionally and watch it grow

Chess Squares

1 box yellow cake mix
3 eggs
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
4 cups (1 lb) powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 300 and spray a 9×13 dish with cooking spray. Mix cake mix, melted butter and one egg to a soft dough. Press into the bottom of the pan. Mix powdered sugar, softened cream cheese and remaining two eggs until smooth, about 1-2 mins. Pour on top of crust. Bake at 300 for 40-50 minutes until top is golden brown.

I've got to ask you "how cute is this"?????  Dot Sticker Garland!!!  .  Who thinks of these things?  Guess I'll be looking for some of these and the bakers twine too.  I want lots of colors and I want to hang them everywhere.

This made me laugh. It's me but they left off craft room, catching up on favorite tv show, talking to friends on the phone, looking at a magazine...........Well you get the picture, anything BUT work on taxes  As bad as I dislike it, I always get it done on time so I guess I'm doing ok.

. Valentines Day is right around the corner.  We have some really cute items that just arrived at the shop. It's not to early to put a touch of red on a little table, or shelf to celebrate the day, and best of all, lots these things can stay out year round.
