July's cookin' and so are we!

Wait till you see what we've been up to!
We've set up awnings and tables on the patio behind MY FRIENDS AND I and are busy filling it up. Everything out there will be on SALE and some items will be marked FREE if you make a purchase either from the patio or in the store. Everything is so cute it's hard to keep from shopping from each other!
The patio sale area isn't open to the public till Saturday BUT if you come in before that you can ask to see back there even while we're getting it set up. Just a little sneak preview for those of you who read our blog.
This is just the beginning of the SALE we plan on keeping the patio open until the first of September or longer if the weather permits AND you will want to keep checking back because we will be adding new SALE and FREE items all the time.
HEY ALL Have you emailed me and told me you want to win the cute book and jar of buttons pictures in the left side? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???

I'm Home

BOY DID I HAVE FUN!
The only thing bad about the trip was the unusual weather in Portland 101 degrees!
There were about 300 booths set up out side (poor dealers!) and I shopped until I couldn't stand it any more then went into the 2 big air conditioned buildings. The picture below are some of the boxes we unloaded this morning into my hall entry way.
The shopping fun is over and now the work begins.
Getting it marked and ready for the shop will be a 2 or 3 day job, but I admit it's fun unloading and seeing the things I bought.
Keep checking back for more pictures.

I'm on a buying trip

LUCKY ME! We're in Oregon shopping every Antique Shop we can find on our way to the big Expo Antique show in Portland. We have to be in Portland by Friday morning for the start of the show. It really doesn't start until Sat. but you can buy a early buyers pass for $$$$ and go in when the dealers are setting up on Friday. It's a giant show, over 1000 booths!! The Friday pass gets us back in on Sat. which we will probably use. A 1000 booths full of Antiques are a lot to see in one day! I've already bought some really cute things to bring back for the shop. Will post when I get them in the store.

These and more are on this site just click HERE to see them. You could do all kinds of stuff with them. Cards, hangtags, magnets, etc. etc. etc. If you know of any great web sites you'd like to share email me the web page and I'll check them out. They may show up on this blog one day.

Fun!

This picture is of Gary Mills who is a Niles resident and owns this wonderful vintage truck. He has it all decorated to drive in the Mission San Jose 4th of July parade. He had a blast driving it around on Sunday during the Plaza Concert. He said "hop on board" and I did! Make sure you look at the post below this one to see more pictures.

First Niles Plaza Concert and Red White and Blue

If you missed the concert you missed a really fun day. We are hoping to have more through out the summer so keep checking this blog for event news.
The first set of pictures are along Niles Blvd. and the house is back on 2nd Street. Don't you love it?
The last pictures are of the concert and Michael McNevin who is a Niles resident, a musician and all around good guy. He's also the guy who put the summer concerts together and is finding the musicians to entertain us. There were lots of people there enjoying the day including some of MY FRIENDS AND I customers who received our email about the event.
