lost recipe

A customer came in and said she saw a recipe for Chili on our blog and lost it. Did you know that you can go back to past posts? The recipe she is looking for is in the 2009 January post. Just look to the right and click on that month.

Here are a few summer items we have in the store. I love the bird print and of course the big ol' flower for the garden.

Look what came to town today!

It was brought over from Mission Blvd. and will join the Freight building and the depot in our new Plaza. Look for it to all be finished late fall (we hope!)

Charlie Chaplin made his first movies in Niles. Last year an up and coming film maker made this short that you can see on Youtube here.

A few pictures of the store and a reminder

Enjoy the pictures and don't forget the Wildflower, Art and Garden show is Sunday. Come in and say hello.....
Red cannister, vintage washer salt and pepper set in original box
Pin cushion made in a white cup
How cute is this clock? And what about the pincushion made in
pink baby shoe.
You don't see these too often. The pretty lady is a napkin lady, the
napkins go in the slits in the back of her dress. Very collectable.
We know you all like stuff as much as we do. Here's an eye full!

Six Little Bunkers Books

These books have the cutest covers. Wouldn't it be fun to start a child their own collection of vintage books? Or start your own collection. Can't you just picture these on a table or shelf for a wonderful display item? These are witten by the same writer who wrote the Bobbsey Twins series. There are 5 of these "Six Little Bunkers" books, all different titles, but same cover. The one in the picture was written in 1918. The others in the 20's. The books are actullay in better shape than the picture shows. Priced at $12.50 each they are a inexpensive collectable.

May drawing

The birdhouse below is what we are giving away in our drawing for May. You get to enter with every purchase. We call it the "Birdhouse Mansion" because it's so elegant. Note the flowers. They are in our planter in front of the shop. Monica, dealer #2 is the one who keeps the planter looking so pretty. Thanks to her it's always a showcase of flowers.
Don't miss reading the April 28th post below with all the info on the May 17th Wildflower days here in Niles.

AND THE WINNER IS......

In the March 31 post there is a picture of a bucket of magazines that we were having a drawing for on 4-30. Well the lucky winner is Celine from Fremont and she was so happy to win that she came right down to the shop and got her prize. Keep an eye out in the next couple of days, we will be having another contest for May, and we will post a picture on this blog.
